A safety binding for the ski is provided, which serves to secure one end of a ski boot relative to the ski with the possibility of lateral release. The binding has a jaw which engages on the ski boot, and a bearing part which is fixedly secured on the ski and forms two lateral and converging bearing lines for the jaw. These two bearing lines are provided on the transverse surface of the bearing part which is remote from the surface which faces the jaw. The two bearing lines converge towards the ski. A prestress device holds the jaw resiliently in contact on the two lateral, converging contact lines.
