<p>PURPOSE:To cut off laser light automatically when an optical connector for a laser is separated, and thus increase safety and improve operativity by providing a plate type cutting-off shutter in front of an optical fiber output terminal so that it is energized by a spring in a radiant laser light cutoff direction, and resetting the cutoff when the optical connector is coupled. CONSTITUTION:The optical connector 10 with the automatic radiant laser light cutting-off shutter consists of an optical jack 11 and an optical plug 12 which is coupled with it in the optical axis direction; when they are coupled, an operating cam 18 is pressed sufficiently in with a clamping nut 12a, the shutter 16 is at the upper dead point, and a round insertion opening 16c is positioned concentrically with a ferrule 20a. When the clamping nut 12a is loosened in this state and moved as shown by an arrow C, the operating cam 18 is pressed out in the same direction and the cutting-off shutter 16 is pressed down by a spring 17 according to said movement, so that radiant laser light from the optical fiber 20d of the ferrule 20a is cut off automatically by the cutting-off shutter 16.</p> |
