The hydraulically operable cylinder (24) acts as a rope-guide slide. It can be moved in a reciprocating manner on a fixed piston rod (16) which passes through it. Furthermore, the rope winch comprises a control shaft (10) which is driven by the drum (7) with a transmission ratio. The control shaft (10) is provided with an endless helical groove (22) on its surface. The driving fork (8) of the slide (29) fastened to the cylinder (24) runs in this groove (22). The control shaft (10) and the cylinder (24) run parallel to the drum axis (x). The displacement of the slide (29) with the driving fork (8) actuates the control valve (9), which is connected via lines (17, 19) to the hydraulic pump (21) and the cylinder (24). Satisfactory winding and unwinding of the rope (6) on the drum (7) is achieved by this arrangement. <IMAGE>
