PURPOSE:To improve the operativity in copying operation by providing a display means which urges an change in original setting direction when the original setting direction is coincident with a form feeding direction and an original size changing means which replaces the lengths of the long and short side of an original size which are inputted least with each other when the original setting direction is changed. CONSTITUTION:An operator operates a fixed form size input key 15 and a ten-key 4 to input the lengths of the longitudinal and lateral sides of an original. It is checked whether or not the feeding direction of a form of selected size coincides with the setting direction of the original and when the original setting direction is not proper, an original direction change display device device 7 illuminates to urge the operator to change the original setting direction. When the setting direction of the original is changed. the lengths of the longitudinal and lateral sides of the original which are inputted are replaced with each other. Consequently, even if the operator inputs a wrong setting direction, no miscopy is taken and the original setting direction can be changed; and the need to input the size of the original again in this case is eliminated. |
