PURPOSE:To make the constant stay of an accounter at an accouting desk unnecessary and to make clerical work more efficient by permitting a clinic department to store the medial expense, which a patient has to pay, in a medical expense automatic clearing up device. CONSTITUTION:An IC card is used as a clinic card, in which the identification code, etc., of the patient are stored. After the patient is examined, the clinic department stores the medical expense which the patient has to pay in the medial expense automatic clearing up device by its memory means. When the patient inserts the clinic card into said device in order to pay the medial expense, the device reads contents on the card, retrieves a memory 41 connected to a CPU 20 and displays a charging amount at a CRT 7. When money is inputted, it is equal to the charging amount through comparison. Then a receipt is directly issued and the clinic card is returned. |
