PURPOSE:To make it possible to mount multicolor printing function in an extremely easy manner without imparting effect to other parts, by providing a cam for displacing a mount stand for selectively holding monochromatic and multicolor ribbon cassettes and mounting a release body for retracting the detent engaged with said cam from said cam. CONSTITUTION:A multicolor ribbon change-over unit 23 is mounted to a carrier 1. At the time of this mounting, a detent 11 is retracted from a cam 8 by a release body 21 and the cam 8 is rotated by a stepping motor to displace a mount stand 5 and the arbitrary color of the ribbon of the multicolor ribbon cassette 34 is opposed to a printing part 4. When a monochromatic ribbon cassette is used in place of the multicolor ribbon cassette 34, the mount stand 5 is also displaced by the control of the cam 8 to allow the ribbon to oppose to the printing part 4. By this method, parts other than the multicolor ribbon change-over unit 23 are used in common to make it possible to attain the rationalization of production control. |
