PURPOSE:To perform energy-saving and to reduce an abrupt variation in the temperature in a rotary electric machine by providing a flow rate detector for measuring coolant flow rate in the course of a coolant supply system, and controlling the rotating speed of a coolant pump on the basis of the detected value. CONSTITUTION:A coolant circulating system from a water storage tank 4 through a coolant pump 5, a cooling mechanism having a cooler 7 and a filter 11 to a rotary electric machine 1 is formed. A flow rate detector 24 is mounted in a pipe 15 of the side to which the coolant is flowed to the machine 1, an inverter 27 is so controlled that the detected amount becomes equal to the flow rate set in advance by a control output setter 26, thereby controlling the rotating speed of a drive motor 6 of the coolant pump 5. A temperature detector 22 may be mounted in the pipe 15 to eliminate an abrupt cooling by heating by a heater 20 if the temperature of the coolant is excessively low. |
