PURPOSE:To improve the shock resistance of a tubular electric lamp by specifying the dimensions of the flat end of nonluminous parts each consisting of a short bar and a ring anchor and attaching and welding the nonluminous coil of the filament to the flat end. CONSTITUTION:A tubular electric lamp for exposure used in a copying device is produced by stretching a filament 2, formed by serially connecting several emitter coils 3 and several nonluminous parts 4, along the central axis of a tubular bulb 1. The nonluminous part 4 consists of a short bar and a ring anchor 12 and has a flat end 11. The maximum width (d) of the flat end 11 and the inner diameter (D) of nonluminous coils 10 are adjusted according to the formula 0<=d-D<=0.02. The emitter coil 3 is connected to the nonluminous part 4 by attaching the nonluminous coil 10, connected to the emitter coil 3 through a connection 8, around the flat end 11 and then welding the coil 10 and the flat end 11 together. Due to the above structure, it is possible to stably maintain the amount of emission even while vibration being applied to the lamp without causing the coil 10 to detach from the end 11.
