PURPOSE:To prevent a ring for holding a side cover of an injection timing regulator from wear by forming a beveling angle surface in the sectional shape of the ring and providing a same beveling surface in a ring groove of a timer cover which fits said beveling angle surface to provide a gap between the outer diameter of ring groove and the ring. CONSTITUTION:A ring 18 for holding a side cover 19 of a fuel injection timing regulator is formed in the sectional shape with a beveling angle theta surface. A timer cover 1 fitting this ring is also formed in the ring groove with a slant surface beveled by theta so that a gap delta is provided not to make the outer diameter of the ring 18 contact the outer diameter do of the ring groove of the timer cover 1 in fitting. Thus, radial tension takes place by the wedging action of the slant surface according to the spring-back characteristics of the ring 18, and no play is produced axially of the timer cover 1 between the ring 18 and the ring groove so that the play and wear of the ring 18 can be played.
