Held in contact with a ring shaped valve seating (3) for a gas bottle is a conical valve member (4) at the end of a spindle (6) which is moved axially to open the valve. Behind the valve member is a sleeve (11) carried by a smaller diameter port of the spindle. This prevents dirt from entering the valve. The rear port of the sleeve is shaped as a flexible flange (12) extending to the inside surface (13) of a chamber (14) behind the valve member. When closed, the tip of the flange rests on a shoulder (15) at the rear of the chamber. |
