PURPOSE:To comparatively easily set a telephone calling mode by the waiting by a called station side for a while to a calling station's equipment that is operated in an automatic transmission mode, in an initial procedure by an auto-dial function. CONSTITUTION:When an equipment such as a facsimile, etc. in the calling station is started an automatic transmission by the auto-dial function, a communication line 100 is, for the first, acquired and at the next, the selecting signal of a transmission objected station is sent out and a called station 200 is called and the measurement of a waiting time is started. As such a case, when a procedured signal from the called station 200 is not confirmed by the completion time of the measurement, the display of a calling for an operator by an LED or a buzzer is performed and a telephone calling from the called station is informed to the operator. Thus, by the waiting by the called station 200 even when it is not equipped with the equipment such as a facsimile, etc. until the measurement of the waiting time is completed, the operator is called by the equipment of the calling station and the telephone calling mode can be set.
