<p>PURPOSE:To improve wavelength selectivity by separating light from a light source spectrally and controlling it through an optical shutter. CONSTITUTION:A fluorescent tube 1 contains three kinds of spectra lambda1, lambda2, and lambda3; and a parabolic reflecting plate 2 is arranged on its back surface side and a cylindrical lens 3 is arranged on the front side. A spectroscope 4 is a long-sized prism formed of an ultraviolet-ray transmission material. Then, an optical shutter member 5 has a liquid crystal material 10 charged between a common electrode 8 made of a transparent conductive material and signal electrodes 9a, 9b, and 9c made of a transparent conductive material. Light emitted by the fluorescent tube 1 is converged through the lens 3 and separated spectrally by the spectroscope 4 to enter the shutter 5. The spectrum lambda1 of the incident light illuminates an array of electrodes 9a selectively, lambda2 an array of electrodes 9b, and lambda3 an array of electrodes 9c selectively. In this state, when an image signal is inputted to the electrodes 9a-9c, liquid crystal under the electrodes applied with the signal becomes transparent and spectra illuminat ing the electrodes are transmitted through the shutter to irradiate, for example, an image sheet.</p> |
