PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution of the control head of ion current and that of its driving control circuit by selecting and controlling the polarity of passing ion current with controlling the polarity of the electrode at a passing hole. CONSTITUTION:In an ion current control part 3, a recording power source 34 outputs voltage of different polarities based upon an image information to be recorded and is connected between an electrode 40 and earth. An ion generating power source 36 is connected between a coronal wire 44 and a casing 46 and an AC voltage source is applied in it. In an ion generator 32, corona discharge is generated betweeen the corona wire 44 and the casing 46 and ion with a positive polarity and with a negative polarity are diffused in the casing 46. At such a time, when the potential polarity of the electrode 40 in an ion current control head 30 is positive, the ion with the negative polarity is flowed to the electrode 40 and the ion with the positive polarity is irradiated on the back face of a recording member 1 passing through an passing hole 38. Adversely, when the polarity of the eolectrode 40 in negative, the ion with the negative polarity is irradiated on the recording member 1 passing through the passing hole 38. In other words, the polarity of the ion passing is selected and conrolled by utilizing the absorbing function of the ion to the electrode 40. |
