PURPOSE:To obtain a molded polyamide article having excellent strength and stiffness and having a thin hinge part which is so flexible as not to be broken or cracked when being bent, by molding a hinged article from a polyamide having a specified melting point. CONSTITUTION:In the block diagram of a typical hinged molded article, A and B denotes main body parts, which have various constructions depending on the purpose and functions (e.g., functions such as a connector, a cover and a belt). The shape and the size are naturally not limited. C denotes a hinge part, which may be connected to the main body parts A, B at arbitrary positions on the surfaces of the main body parts A, B. A polyamide having a melting point of 254-264 deg.C is used. Any of polyamides fulfilling this requirement can be used. Preferably, an equimolar salt of hexamethylenediamine and adipic acid is used as a main constituent, and epsilon-caprolactam or an equimolar salt of hexamethylenediamine and sebacic acid is used. Alternatively, a copolymer of 6,6-nylon/6-nylon, 6,6-nylon/6,10-nylon or 6,6-nylon/6,12-nylon with an equimolar salt of hexamethylenediamine and dodecanoic acid as a minor component is used. |
