The title compds. I [R=H, MeF3, F, Cl, Br, I!, which are useful as an analgesic, an antiphlogistic, an antifebrile, or an arthritis curing agent, were prepd. Thus, 0.49 g p-toluene sulfonate in 50 ml diethyl ether was reacted with 1 g 6-(4-fluorophenyl)-2,3-bis(4- methoxyphenyl) pyridine in 50 ml diethyl ether to give 1.29 g 6-(4- fluorophenyl)-2,3-bis(4-metoxyphenyl)-pyridine -4-methylbenzene sulfonate.
