A quaternary ammonium salt of the general formula (I): <IMAGE> (I) wherein R1 and R2 represent each <IMAGE> or an alkyl group having one to four carbon atoms provided that at least of them is <IMAGE> wherein R5 represents an alkyl or alkenyl group having four to 22 carbon atoms, and R6 represents an alkyl or alkenyl group having two to 20 carbon atoms; R3 and R4 represent each an alkyl group having one to four carbon atoms or -CH2CH2OH; and X(-)represents a counter anion: is an effective miticide and causes no chemical damage to fruit trees and vegetables. |
