PURPOSE:To provide a sealing device which has high sealing ability and excellent durability, by a method wherein a resilient swelling body is located to the inside of a resilient skin layer, and after a part of the resilient skin layer is secured to a protection block, water is poured in the resilient swelling body to seal a gap. CONSTITUTION:A sealing device 1 is located in a gap 4 between protection blocks 2 and 3 in the direction of the depth of the gap. A resilient skin layer 6 is so formed as to cover about the outside of the sealing device 1, and a pipe 8 having a number of holes 7 is installed in the central part of the interior of the skin layer 6. A space between the pipe 8 and the resilient skin layer 6 is filled with a resilient swelling material 10, water is poured to the interior of the resilient swelling material 10 after passage through the pipe 8 and the holes 7, and a high distension pressure P is produced to completely seal the gap 4. This prevents lowering of the sealing effect of the gap between the protection blocks even if the blocks are used for a long time, and enables prevention of production of a gap at a gap part and leak water. |
