PURPOSE:To simultaneously drive a platen and an elastic belt to rotate and enable a recording paper to be securely fed, by a method wherein an elastic belt is brought into direct contact with a platen, and a recording paper is pressed against the platen by the belt. CONSTITUTION:When the recording paper 10 is inserted in the direction of an arrow from a flat surface part 5-a of a guide block 5, the block 5 is turned with a rotary shaft 8 as a center in the direction of arrow C from the two- dotted line position to the solid-line position by an operating mechanism. In this case, a side of the elastic belt 9 formed between rollers 6 presses against the platen 1 through the paper 10. Since the belt 9 makes close contact with the platen 1 through the paper 10 and also makes direct contact with the platen 1 at part X thereof, it is driven together with the platen 1 while being supported by the rollers 6, and presses the paper 1 to a side face of the platen 1 over a wide range. Accordingly, the paper 10 can be securely fed in the rotating direction of the platen 1. |
