PURPOSE:To provide a thermoelectric converting device which is made as a unit easily and has an increased mechanical strength and large electromotive force, by overlapping into multi-layer semiconductor thermocouples which have both faces of a heat-proof insulating thin plate put between N-type and P-type semiconductor thin plates, in order to constitute a basic unit. CONSTITUTION:Into a concave formed in the top of a ceramics thin plate 1, a nickel plate 2 is put to constitute an alumina substrate 3. Both faces of the substrate 3 which are sputtered with FeSi2 4 are put between sintered plates of (FeCo)Si2 5 and (FeMn)Si2 6. They are heated with being fastened by a jig, in order to execute heat treatment for converting from alpha-phase (metal phase) to beta-phase (semiconductor phase), constituting a basic element 7. Five basic elements and six alumina substrates are overlapped alternately and are electrically coupled in series to constitute a basic unit 7'. |
