PURPOSE:To attain detection of movement of a disc support with high accuracy by providing a potentiometer in response to the movement of the disc support to a position detecting means and a comparator comparing a terminal voltage of the potentiometer with a reference voltage. CONSTITUTION:A gear 56 operating a rotary potentiometer 55 is meshed with a rack 45f formed on the lower end of a moving member 45 and they are fitted to a bracket 8e projected to the lower end of a chassis 8. The comparator comparing a reference voltage with a terminal voltage of the potentiometer 55 is assembled in a control circuit controlling the operation of a disc player, and a couple of detection switches 57, 58 detecting the moving start and end positions of the disc support 5 through the engagement of the front and rear ends of the moving member 45 are fitted in the vicinity of the front and rear ends of the chassis 8. Thus, the position of the disc support 5 during moving is detected with high accuracy and the cost is reduced.
