PURPOSE:To record a high-frequency signal and to perform overlapped write by providing in advance a track generating an external magnetic field of different magnetizing directions to both sides of the recording track. CONSTITUTION:The external magnetic field generation tracks 7, 8, 9 on which vertical magnetic fields of different directions is recorded in advance are provided to both sides of the recording track. It is possible to record a binary signal on the recording track by irradiating selectively an elliptic spot irradiated on the external magnetic field generation tracks 7, 8 provided at both sides of the recording track 5. That is, the irradiation of two laser beams is controlled to control the direction of a floating magnetic field at high speed and high speed magnetic field modulation is applied, then overlapped write of the high frequency signal is applied to the optomagnetic medium.
