MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic recording medium having an excellent electromagnetic conversion characteristic and still image durability and improved still durability by incorporating a fatty acid and/or fatty ester and fluorine- contg. surface active agent into a magnetic layer. CONSTITUTION:The fatty acid and/or fatty ester and fluorine-contg. surface active agent are incorporated into the magnetic layer of the magnetic recording medium having the magnetic layer contg. a binder and magnetic powder on a substrate. The fatty acid is the monovalent or divalent fatty acid of 6-30C and the fatty ester is preferably the fatty ester derived from the monovalent fatty acid of 8-20C or the divalent fatty acid of 4-20C. The fluorine-contg. surface active agent is used to make contribution to the improvement of the lubricity of a perfluoroalkyl group and to make use of the decrease of the surface tension to the improvement of the dispersibility of a magnetic paint. Said agent improves the still durability and electromagnetic conversion characteristic when used in combination with the fatty acid and/or fatty ester.
