PURPOSE:To accommodate effectively plural pieces of picture information having an optional data length by providing a rewritable information holding means to hold the storing position designating information of picture element information at every picture. CONSTITUTION:Digital picture information supplied from a sensor to an input terminal 1 is stored to a picture memory IM, after that, read and through an arithmetic unit 3, written to the picture memory IM as an intermediate result again. The same processing is repeated at the prescribe number of times, the final result is stored into the picture memory IM and finally, sent from an output terminal 5. In such a case, at a memory control part 4, the rewritable information holding means to hold the storing position designating information of the picture element information for respective pictures is provided and at the time of writing or reading, the storing position designating information for the picture is outputted by the picture information identifying information. Thus, the access position of a memory part 2 is determined and stored in the memory part 2 without having the wasteful space by the optional data length picture information.
