PURPOSE:A polyester composition, containing carbon black having a specific average particle diameter, oil absorption and volatile content and useful for forming films having improved slipperiness, flatness and abrasion resistance with little coarse particles. CONSTITUTION:A polyester composition, containing 0.05-5wt% carbon black having 15-100mmu, preferably 25-80mmu, average particle diameter, 60-130ml/100g, preferably 70-120ml/100g, oil absorption and 3-7wt%. preferably 4-6wt%, volatile content in a polyester, preferably polyethylene terephthalate or polytetramethylene terephthalate, and produced for example adsorbing ethylene glycol in the carbon black, kneading both adding further, ethylene glycol thereto and adding the resultant slurry to the reaction system in production of the polyester.
