PURPOSE:To shift quickly a cursor to the desired position by correcting the degree of displacement into the larger value when the degree of displacement is larger a certain level and changing the position of the cursor according to the corrected degree of displacement. CONSTITUTION:A revolution detecting part 1 detects the revolution of a mobile ball. A displacement degree counting part 2 counts the output of the part 1 to obtain the count value proportional to the degree of displacement of the mobile ball. A control part 4 starts a correction part 3 every fixed time. Then the part 3 reads the count value out of the part 2 to give correction to it so as to obtain larger value and delivers it to the part 4. Then the part 4 receives the corrected value from the part 3 and calculates the degree of shift from the present position of a cursor to shift the cursor on the screen of a display device 5. This action is repeated every fixed time and therefore the revolving speed of the mobile ball is proportional to the count value of the part 2. Thus the revolving speed of the ball is increased in case the count value is large after correction of the revolving speed. Then the cursor can be shifted quickly to a desired position.
