PURPOSE:To interrupt transportation of a developer, which is caused by a transporting member in nonuse, and to obtain an excellent developed picture by making the transportation interrupting member for interrupting the transportation of the developer into a magnetic material in nonuse. CONSTITUTION:Developer cutting shafts 10a and 10b are movable between the 1st position A close to magnet rollers 7a and 7b and the 2nd position away from them. When developing units 2a and 2b are used, they are pulled toward the 2nd position B by a spring in nonuse. On the other hand, when they are not used, they are pulled by a solenoid not shown in this figure and are shifted to the 1st position A. The developer cutting shafts 10a and 10b are made of magnetic materials such as iron. The magnetic roller 7b will not contact the developer cutting shaft 10b, and therefore the former will not be damaged. |
