Process for preparing fine ferrous discharge matter with alloying elements, e.g. chromium, also in its sixth oxidation stage, particularly in filter dust and/or in filter sludge, from the manufacture of steel particularly electrosteel, characterised in that the fine discharge matter is mixed with an aqueous polymer solution and the mixture thus obtained is dried in air to form briquettes or debris.
