To receive at least two cards to be stored, such as identity cards, cheque cards, authorisation cards or the like, a protective covering (1) is specified, having outer walls (6, 7) which are connected to one another on three sides, the fourth, open side being designed as an insertion aperture or insertion apertures for the cards, and each of the receiving compartments (2, 3, 4) being assigned a gripping aperture (10; 11) which is designed as an opening in the corresponding outer wall (6, 7), and at least two receiving compartments (2, 3; 2, 4) being provided, which are separated by a central wall (5) arranged between the outer walls (6, 7) and having a projection (5.1) extending beyond their height, and whose gripping apertures (10, 11) are designed as arrows or semi-arrows which point in the direction of the insertion aperture of the receiving compartments (2, 3; 2, 4) and at least partially cover one another, the central wall having a number of openings in the region of the covering of the gripping aperture. <IMAGE>
