In order, in a loop-carpet covering, to prevent threads from being torn out in the region between two punching cuts of a prepunched cutout which can be broken out, there is provided in this region a respective severing cut which extends approximately transversely to the thread direction and which covers the associated cutting line of the punching cut at least by the amount of the thread thickness.
