The invention relates to a magnetic element for purposes of the so-called magnetic core therapy for application to acupuncture points on the skin of a patient. The underlying object is to provide a simple, efficient design of such a magnetic element. According to the invention, this is achieved by a weakly magnetised rod (1) having a length of from about 5 to 10 mm and a width or diameter of about 3 to 5 mm, which is wrapped in a special further development with a wire (3) of an electrically conducting material to form an electric coil (2). In a preferred embodiment, the rod (1) is formed by the coil (2) itself by magnetisation of the coil wire (3) from which the coil (2) is wound. <IMAGE>
