PURPOSE:A dental material especially useful for denture base, comprising a molecular composite material obtained by dispersing uniformly a rigid molecule of a specific N-alkylated-poly(p-phenylene terephthalamide) in a matrix of a polymethyl methacrylate resin. CONSTITUTION:Poly(p-phenylene terephthalamide) which is subjected to N- alkylation with 8-20C alkyl group is used as a rigid molecular component instead of the existing fiber reinforcing material and uniformly dispersed into a matrix of polymethyl methacrylate resin in a ratio of matrix component to rigid molecular component of 95:5-99:1, to give a molecular composite material, which is used as a dental material. The dental material has more improved mechanical characteristics than that consisting of the resin only, especially extremely improved strength, it has no feeling of physical disorder which is followed by the existing fiber reinforcing material during attaching and it has improved processing operation properties.
