PURPOSE:To obtain picture information with wide dynamic range on the system by applying transfer, storage and read after only the photoelectric conversion and storage cycle is repeated continuously by a set number of times. CONSTITUTION:A drive timing section 2 applies directly phase signals phiS, phiR in a clock signal CK directly to a storage section 12 of a image sensor 10 and a read register 13 and applies a phase signal phiI to photoelectric conversion storage section 11 via a gate circuit 4. A control means 3 detects the photoelectric conversion and storage mode of the image sensor 10, uses a control signal CS to change over a gate circuit 4, fixes the phase signals phi11-phi14 in a prescribed logic level combination so as to apply photoelectric conversion and storage for plural number of times synchronously with a vertical synchronizing signal Vsync. The picture information PS from the image sensor 10 is subject to sensitivity adjustment for the charge storage only for several times, then it corresponds always to the range of the requested dynamic range.
