Method for processing highly infectious substances, especially used haemodialysis filters and the like, for disposal purposes using a processing plant, by passing the highly infectious substance into the processing plant, cutting the highly infectious substance in a cutter, spraying the cut substance parts with a disinfectant, introducing the cut substance parts sprayed with the disinfectant into a storage vessel, removing the conveyed vessels from the plant and discharging the disinfectant from the vessel after a specific residence time, and a device for carrying out this method.
