PURPOSE:To coat electrostatically the inner peripheral surface of a can and the rolled joint part by electrostatically coating polyethylene resin powder on the rolled joint part of the can, then injecting a large amt. of the powder onto the inner periphery of the can and heating the powder. CONSTITUTION:When a synthetic resin film is coated on the inner surface of a drum can, a pail, etc., the open drum can 1 is finished into conditions suitable for coating and polyethylene powder is firstly coated on the inner peripheral surface part of the bottom of the can, namely the rolled joint part 2, by a gun for electrostatic powder coating. Then the same powder is electrostatically coated 5 by an electrostatic coating gun 4 which is directed at a specified angle to the inner peripheral surface of the drum can 1. When the excess amt. of the powder coating beyond the limits of electrostatic powder coating is injected, the surplus is dropped and adhered to the uncoated lower inner surface of the drum can. Then the coating is heated to the extent sufficiently to control the formation of pinholes due to the air bubbles formed by the air in the powder or the rolled joint part. The powder coating is melted and coated.
