The invention relates to a metering device for inking and damping rollers on printing machines, in particular on the screen roller serving for the transfer of ink or damping medium. By means of the subject-matter of the invention, contactless, wear-free scraping of the screen roller is ensured in such a way that the screen roller and a suction strip, which has over its length one or more suction chambers arranged in zones and connected to a source of suction air and to one or more suction pressure regulating devices, form a functional unit. Additionally, the suction strip has suction apertures before its suction region in the direction of rotation, which suction apertures constitute a functional connection of the suction chambers to the outside air, their intervals corresponding at most to the smallest inking or damping medium zone width. It is possible with the metering device according to the invention to meter the ink of an inking unit or the damping medium of a damping unit in zones in accordance with the given ink or damping medium profile. <IMAGE>
