PURPOSE:To attain the operation by one motor and to reduce the load exerted to a motor by providing a control means executing alternately the reading and recording. CONSTITUTION:In copying, a microprocessor CPU drives a motor 5 in the direction X via a drive section DRV by a prescribed quantity in the unit of lines, the picture information on an original 1 is read by a read section RDR via a lens system LL and stored once in a memory FIFO. The motor 5 is driven in the direction Y to carry a recording member 3, the information stored in the memory FIFO is read and recorded on the recording member 3 via a recording section PRT. The recording and read are repeated until the processing of one page of the original is finished. The load exerted to the motor 5 is that by the read roller 2 or the recording roller 4.
