PURPOSE:An antiulcer remedy having high safety, containing a specific sesquiterpenoid compound isolated from Zedariae Rhizoma as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION:An antiulcer remedy containing a sesquiterpenoid compound shown by the formula as an actative ingredient. The compound shown by the formula is well-known to have alleviating action on hepatis, and was found to have antiulcer action newly. The compound shown by the formula shows antiulcer action action by oral administration, a dose is 80mg each time and the compound is administered about 2-3 times daily. The compound shown by the formula is fractionated from a nonpolar organic solvent extracted essence of Zedariae Rhizoma by column chromatography, etc., and can be isolated.
