PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for installation of a protective film and to simplify medium constitution by forming respectively thin magnetic films on the inside surfaces of two sheets of substrates and joining the substrates to a sheet of a both-side recording medium in such a manner that the respective magnetization directions of the front thin magnetic film and the rear thin magnetic film are opposite from each other. CONSTITUTION:The thin vertical magnetic films 3, 4 each having the axis of easy magnetization perpendicular to the plane thereof are formed on the respective one surface side of the substrates 1, 2 consisting of plastic or glass. The films 3, 4 are preliminarily magnetized in the direction perpendicular to the plane of the respective substrates 1, 2 and the magnetization directions are made the same with respect to the substrates 1, 2. The two substrates 1, 2 are pasted to each other to form a sheet of the double-side recording medium via an adhesive agent 5 interposed therebetween in such a manner that the films 3, 4 face each other. The films 3, 4 are formed on the respective one side faces of the substrates 1, 2 by the constitution consisting in depositing first a protective film 6 on one side surface side, then depositing the film 3 thereon and depositing further a protective film 7 on the thin film in the case of the substrate 1 and by the constitution consisting in depositing a protective film 8 on the one surface side, then depositing the film 4 and depositing further a protective film 9 on the thin film similarly in the case of the substrate 2.
