PURPOSE:To improve the target characteristic of a wire to be fed to an arc point and to prevent unstability of an arc by inserting a wound soft welding wire between grooved straightening rolls from the specified direction via a wire introducing guide. CONSTITUTION:The soft welding wire W which is wound on a spool 2 is passed through grooved straightening rolls 3 and 3a of a straightening device 1 and after the bend in the direction perpendicular to the axial line of the spool 2 is straightened, the wire is fed toward the arc point direction through a welding tip (not shown). Pinch rolls 5 for a wire introducing guide are provided on the side forward of the position where the wire is inserted between the rolls 3 and 3a in the stage of the above-mentioned feeding, so that the uniform insertion direction of the wire W to the rolls 3 and 3a is maintained regardless of the fluctuation in the rewinding angle between the angles M of the wire W unwound from the spool 2. The target characteristic of the wire W is thus improved and the unstability and defective penetration of the arc are prevented. |
