PURPOSE:To discriminate easily the used amount and the remaining amount of a memory by providing a display means representing the using or idle state of data in the memory. CONSTITUTION:The picture information read by a read section 3 is processed by a central control section 5, stored in a memory of a picture memory section 6 and the amount of the memory used for the storage is displayed on a display section 2 by the control section 5. The data in the memory is read sequentially, sent via a line 10, the data from the line 10 is written in the memory and read sequentially, recorded by the recording section 4, the rate of use of the memory is displayed always for the transmission and reception state. The display section 2 consists of an LED array or the like, a hatched part 12 shows the rate of occupied memory by data in the unit of %, and a space 11 shows the vacancy of the memory. Whether or not the next data read is availabel is discriminated by observing the rate of data shown in the hatched part 12.
