PRODUCTION OF MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic disk having a lubricating layer which is finely adjusted in the film thickness by providing a lubricative org. material layer which is liquid at a room temp. on a magnetic recording surface by vacuum deposition. CONSTITUTION:A coating type thin magnetic film disk which is produced by dispersing magnetic powder (gamma-Fe2O3) into a binder consisting of an epoxy resin, phenolic resin and polyvinyl butyral and has a 5'' diameter as a magnetic recording medium is cleaned by trichlorofluoroethane and thereafter the liquid lubricative org. material layer is formed on the magnetic recording surface of such thin magnetic film disk by using a vacuum deposition device to constitute the magnetic disk. The device is attached with the magnetic disk 2 to be formed with the liquid lubricative org. material layer to a magnetic disk fixing means 3 in the upper part in a vacuum vessel 1 and is provided with an evaporating source part 4 made of tantalum in the lower part in the vessel 1. The tantalum boat is connected to 'Slidac(R)' 5 so that the temp. fo the evaporating source can be controlled.
