A radial tyre is provided at least in the shoulder area with a block profile whose circumferential division number is less than 25. At the same time, the product of the radius of curvature (RT) of the tread and the height-to-width ratio (H/W) of the tyre, measured with the tyre inflated, is in the region of 250 to 400 mm, the rubber hardness (Hs) of the tread is less than 70 DEG and the depth of the transverse grooves (LG) in the shoulder area is less than 9 mm. In this way, the different degrees of wear on the front edge and rear edge of the individual blocks can be effectively reduced whilst maintaining the grip of the tyre and other necessary properties of the radial tyre. <IMAGE>
