<p>Sensor for water or water-like media as well as sensors for hydrocarbons (oils, gasolines, etc.), or hydrocarbon-like media. The sensors are capable of identifying the escaping medium either immediately (Type A), or after a longer period of taking effect (Type B). Either type can be designed in principle as a continuous sensor or as a series of discrete components arranged at set intervals. The sensors are suitable for a number of well-known electrical and electronic measurement processes (e.g. impedance measurement, reflectometers, resonance measurement). Using the sensors described and suitable measurement instruments, it is possible to monitor the operational dependability of from short to very long conduit systems and, when leaks occur, to take timely and suitable measures for their elimination.</p> |
