CATALYTIC CONVERSION OF METHANOL AND/OR DIMETHYL ETHER TO OLEFINS USING ZSM-48

A method is provided for converting oxygenates such as methanol and/or dimethyl ether to olefins at moderate temperatures and pressures comprising contacting the feed with crystalline zeolite catalyst designated as ZSM-48. The olefins formed can then be converted to a low-durene gasoline over ZSM-5 type olefin conversion catalysts under conventional aromatizing conditions or to a distillate boiling above the gasoline range.
