PURPOSE:To provide a reliable resilient pivot with the mechanical strength thereof being maintained to be maximum, by obtaining the resilient pivot from a single columnar material with the use of electrical discharge machining. CONSTITUTION:A columnar material 12a is subjected to a wire-cut electrical discharge to form secter-like cross-sectioned shape holes successively, so that a pair of leaf spring sections 13a, 13b which are orthogonal to each other, are integrally formed. After both end sections of one 13a of the leaf spring sections formed in this material 12b are removed with the center section alone being left by means of electrical discharge machining, the center section of the other leaf spring section 13b is cut off by means of electrical discharge machining so that these spring sections 13a, 13b are separated from each other. This material 12c is subjected to electrical discharge machining by a semicircular plate-like electrode so that a gap 15 is formed extending from both end faces of the material 12c to an annular groove 11, thereby a resilient pivot 16 may be obtained. |
