PURPOSE:To obtain a permanent-current switch, turn-off and turn-on times thereof are each shortened, by winding a plural layer of heater wires along superconducting wires so that the heater wires are interposed among the windings of the superconducting wires. CONSTITUTION:An annular switching casing 10 is dipped into a cryogenic medium 11 such as liquid helium and cooled. Heater wires 13 are rolled into superconducting wires 12 so that the heater wires 13 are interposed among pairs of the superconducting wires 12 folded back by bifilar winding in the switch casing 10. The heater wires 13 are formed by flexible band-shaped stainless foil in approximately 10mum thickness, and a plural layer of them are wound along the superconducting wires 12. The number of the steps of windings wound in the longitudinal direction of tabular heater wires 13b is increased, thermal conduction to the superconducting wires 12 from both heater wires 13a, 13b is improved, thus reducing temperature differences among 13 and 12. Accordingly, a permanent-current switch can be turned-off by low inputs while the turn-off and turn-on times of the switch can also be shortened. |
