PURPOSE:To make it possible to transport envelopes, etc. at a high speed, by constituting the entirety or a part of each envelope or the content of each envelope with a nonmagnetic material as a nonmagnetic secondary conductive material moving along the surface of a transport path, and by driving the envelopes with the use of a linear induction motor. CONSTITUTION:A stator iron cores 111, 112 are opposed to each other through a gap, and are secured to an attaching frame 15. Further, for example, three- phase a.c. current is fed to an energizing coil 12, and there is generated an advancing magnetic field through the gap. Meanwhile a guide rail 13 as an insulator is fitted in the gap, and a material 14 which is an envelope to which a nonmagnetic conductive material is entirely or in part such as, for example, aluminum foil is applied, or the content of which is applied with a nonconductive aluminum foil, etc. is inserted in this guide rail 13, and is driven as a secondary conductive member. That is, an envelope, etc. is made of magnetic materials as a nonmagnetic secondary member with respect to a linear induction motor 10 provided with a primary stator for generating an advancing magnetic field along the transport path for the envelope 14, and therefore, the envelope 14 per se is driven so that it is possible to transfer the envelope at a high speed.
