PURPOSE:To transport a large bore pipe so efficiently, by making the pipe ovality so that the minimum outer diameter of the said pipe becomes well within the size easily handleable with the Road Traffic Law and its related regulations in case of road transport for such a type of pipes with a trailer or the like, and restoring the said pipe to its original round from after transportation. CONSTITUTION:At the time of road transport for large bore pipes 2 with a trailer 10 or the like, first each of receiving metal devices 6 welding two pairs of upper and lower slender pipes is additionally installed in an inner surface of the pipe 2. Next, each of hydraulic jacks 4 is installed in each receiving metal device 6, operating these jacks, whereby the pipe 2 is made to contract its diameter into ovality, thus it is deformed so as to become, for example, below 3.5m in size. In succession, a pin 8 is attached to each of these hydraulic jacks 4, locking any operation of these jacks 4. Afterward, the said pipe 2 is mounted on a trailer 10 of 3.5m in width, by way of example, and it is transported. And, transportation is over, the pipe 2 is unloaded out of the trailer 10, and these hydraulic jacks 4 are loosed to some extent whereby the pipe 2 is restored to its original round form.
