PURPOSE:To perform a rustproofing treatment without any bore crush and over the whole length of the coil by performing the coating of rust preventive oil in inverse proportion of the spraying quantity of the rust preventive oil to the reel current value. CONSTITUTION:An electrostatic coating device is provided on the passage of a steel plate 1 and composed of the box body 2 having the path through which the steel plate 1 is passed. A rust preventive oil is sprayed in the spraying quantity in inverse proportion to the reel current from rust preventive oil spray 5, 5'. The spray 5, 5' is of air atomizing nozzle type with variable spraying quantity continuously and sprays atomized oil corpuscles inside the box body 2. The high voltage electrode 6, 6' supported by supporting body 7, 7' charge static electricity on the atomized oil corpuscles and forms uniform oil film on the surface of the steel plate 1 on which reverse polarity voltage is impressed and achieve the coating.
