PURPOSE:To make it possible to absorb sound from liquid surface waves, by forming the upper component wall of a container such as, for example, a fuel tank in a double wall structure and by forming several holes in the inner wall thereof confronting the liquid surface, piercing the inner wall thicknesswise. CONSTITUTION:A fuel tank 5 is composed of upper and lower section component walls 5a, 5b which are jointed by joint flanges 5c, 5d to form a liquid storage chamber, and a double wall structure member 7 is secured to the inside of the upper component wall 5a through the intermediary of locking members 6. The double wall structure member 7 is composed of an outer component wall 7a and an inner component wall 7b confronting the liquid surface ad formed therein with several small holes 8 piercing the inner component wall 7b thicknesswise. Accordingly, when the liquid in the fuel tank 5 osccilates, the air layer 9 shields abnormal sound generated by liquid surface waves. Thus, the generation of abnormal sound may be reduced without the volume of a liquid container for a vehicle being decreased.
